(14 November 2016) – The first meeting of the European Commons Assembly will take place in Brussels from the 15th-17th of November 2016 and ECOLISE will be represented by Genny Carraro, Managing Director of GEN-Europe.
This event provides an opportunity for commoners from around Europe to gather in solidarity, network with local commoners in Brussels, and co-create policy proposals for the commons.
On the afternoon of the 16th there will be a meeting in the European Parliament, in cooperation with the EP intergroup on Common Goods and Public Services (led by Marisa Matias, Dario Tamburrano, Ernesto Urtasun and Sergio Cofferati). It will be streamed on the internet, so those that cannot come to Brussels can follow the process.
On the morning of the 17th the European Commons Assembly will hold another important meeting outside the Parliament, where it will reflect on its work so far and discuss the future of the organisation.
The programme is available on the website, with a downloadable PDF.
A team of filmmakers have produced two related videos (“A European Assembly for the Commons” and “A Gathering of Commoners: Join the European Commons Assembly“) and will also film the event in Brussels.
