On Sunday 24th September 2017, between 1pm and 4pm we will be holding a 30th Anniversary Celebration. This event is not our traditional Open Day but a wonderful opportunity to bring together some of the key players in the development of The Shared Earth Trust at Denmark Farm to share our memories and achievements of thirty years caring for this special patch of nature.
We will be officially opening our new Wildlife Discovery Room. This structure is a simple roundwood timber framed building sited at the end of our self-catering Eco-Lodge. The building is in a prime position with windows overlooking the nature reserve and bird feeding station. The building will include monitoring equipment for viewing nest box & bird feeder cameras as well as other educational resources. The surrounding area will benefit from a small area of decking for outdoor wildlife activities, new seating and other landscaping. This space will enable us to support young people and others to learn about wildlife and the environment. This project has been funded by Postcode Local Trust

Additionally, our green fingered volunteer gardeners will be onsite to share their experiences of the growing year, whilst they sow crops for the winter and harvest the last of the season’s produce.

Plus we hope to be carrying out some informal interviews with people about their memories and experiences during the ‘early days’.

If you have planted trees, taught on a course, volunteered in the office, built the boardwalk, made a nest box, were a past staff member or trustee, served tea at an open day or have contributed/been involved in any other way please join us. Please invite others to help spread the word.

OH, and yes there will be tea and birthday cake!
